Evangelicals have joined with politicians who pursue policies that are wreaking havoc on God’s creation. In violation of the very first commandment.

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Genesis 1:28

Notice that God did not say, “destroy the earth”, he said “replenish the earth”. He also didn’t say, “destroy the fish of the sea, the fowl of the air”. Of course, He wouldn’t say that, because He created them all!

And yet, with the GOP refusal to acknowledge the reality of Climate Change, and the fact that man’s activities are wreaking havoc on God’s creation, there is a reckoning that is coming. The idea that God would sit back, and allow man to continue to destroy all of His creative work on the earth, is naive, and to ignore God’s hand in the historical record.

The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, And the time of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear Your name, small and great, And should destroy those who destroy the earth.” Revelation 11:18

The word of God tells us that the day will come when God will judge all men, including the destroyers of the earth. It makes no sense to oppose abortion, and gay marriage, but then support government policies that peel back all regulations on companies that pollute the air, water, food, and wildlife.
